As heavy snow falls in Ningbo, I thought it would be helpful to let you know what the weather will be like on our wedding. Here are the averages for Newport Beach (NB) with some comparisons with Grand Rapids (GR) and Beijing (BJ):

On average, 7.1mm of precipitation fall in Newport Beach in October. Compared with the 66.0mm in January, our chances of rain should be slim.

When and Where: We will be married at Orange County Christian Evangelical Church on Saturday, October 1, 2005, in Newport Beach, California. There will also be a reception in Beijing several weeks after the wedding. Details for that will probably not come out for some time. A Grand Rapids, MI, reception is possible, but it wont be for several months after we get married.

Logistics: It may be a little early for this, but we recommend you fly into John Wayne Orange Country Airport or Los Angeles International Airport. The former is about 10 minutes from the wedding site. LAX is about an hour away. Jet Blue or ATA Airlines are inexpensive options you may want to explore.

If you are on a really tight budget, you might consider getting a rental car from Rent-a-Wreck.

Shopping: Newport Beach is home to several nice shopping centers. We recommend you visit South Coast Plaza or Fashion Island. This website has links to a variety of attractions in the area.

Accomodations: We will reserve rooms at a nearby hotel when we visit Michigan and California in early February.

So I dont know who will ever look at this, but here is another picture of Maria and me. We went out last Saturday to Passerby Bar. It's a great courtyard restaurant situated in a middle-of-nowhere hutong in downtown Beijing.

And here we are playing frisbee. It isnt from last weekend, but many of the same people were there. Good times had by all.
